How To Measure Your Project Space
Help us get your started on your project by bringing in a drawing of the project. Here are some helpful things to remember before you start measuring.
Show all windows, include measurements (height and width) and case molding if applicable.
Show all doors, include measurements (height and width) and case molding if applicable.
Show the direction the door swings.
Include an electrical map - where are switches and plugs.
Steps to Measure Your Room:
Start in one corner and measure each section of the wall, windows and doors (when measuring windows and doors, include the trim in the measurement). Record all the dimensions on your sketch.
Measure the total distance of each wall and show the dimension on your sketch.
For each wall, add the section measurements and compare to the total measurement. These measurements should be the same.
Measure from floor to ceiling and provide window height elevations.
